Google to the Rescue : Get the new year off to a great start with a multitude of Google tools for educators. Participants will get a chance to see some of the most recent updates for educators using Google, Google Drive, Chrome Apps and Extensions and Google +. Google Apps and Activities: Google has a vast array of options for educators and students. If your school is just starting out in the Google world let us be your guide. Participants in this hands-on trainings will learn management tips and how to connect and share with calendars and learn the basics of Google Drive. This workshop will also help teachers develop lesson plans that incorporate the dynamic collaborative features of Google docs, spreadsheets, presentations and forms.
Getting More Out of Google: This professional development option is for those educators who are using Google Drive and other Google tools and want to explore some additional possibilities for using Google Apps. Participants will explore some additional functions of Google Drive and practice creating self-grading tests and assessments with Google forms and spreadsheets. Many of the features of Google+ will be explored as well as the use of Google apps by students.
Google, Blooms and ELA Common Core Standards: This workshop is designed for those teachers who are familiar with Google Apps and want to use the apps to address the new Common Core Standards for ELA. From using the comment feature in Docs and Presentations to analyzing text and writing arguments this day will be an amazing chance to spend time exploring, creating, collaborating and producing some practical applications using Google Apps.
Reading, Research and Writing with Chrome Apps and Extensions: Join us as we add extensions and apps to our Google Drive and Chrome browser. These apps and extensions enable students to be successful in the process of reading, writing and research. Chrome Extensions are small programs that add new features to your browser and personalize your browsing experience. By using Chrome extensions students can make the process of finding, organizing, and citing information a million times easier. Teachers can use these extensions for teaching to all learning modalities. Google Drive Apps are available through your Google Drive account. These apps add additional functionality to your Google Drive and allow teachers to create literacy assignments for students other that the traditional research paper.
Using Google Drive for Assessment: Join us as we share some ideas for using Google docs, sheets, slides and forms for assessment. Participants will explore these cool Google apps to make flashcards, self grading tests, video enhanced assessments, customized slides and sheets for assessment and add some basic formulas to Google sheets. If you want to do more with your Google Drive then this is the session for you.
Chromebook Basics: Chromebooks are fast, portable computers that give students access to the web's rich educational tools and resources. They run Chrome OS, an operating system from Google. This professional development opportunity will provide educators with the basics of using Chromebooks in a classroom and developing activities geared for student engagement and support and enhance student learning in your school district.
Creating a Chrome Nation: Successful emersion of technology requires more than just a new set of technology tools. As our classrooms today becomes more tech-centric and our students become more immersed in the world of technology it is important to examine how technology impacts teaching and learning. It is no longer enough to just provide the technology in our schools and institutions. It is imperative to examine the level of student engagement and how technology affects pedagogy and the delivery of content. Join us as we explore a plethora of projects to share with teachers that teach to the top of the SAMR model and develop 21st century skills using Google Tools, Chromebooks and the Chrome browser.
