Game-Based Teaching and Learning: Game-Based Learning is an innovative practice that engages students in learning important 21st century skills and content. As educators realize this, it will allow us to design better games and create new learning opportunities for those raised in our digital world. In this exciting and challenging workshop educators learn how to get their "game on" as they learn how "gamifying" can transform a classroom. Participants will explore using games to deliver content and test/play some game-based assessments. Educators will take away a plethora of great strategies for embedding digital quizzes, polls and open-ended questions into PowerPoint, interactive whiteboard lessons, presentations, websites and more. Participants will also learn how to set up the dynamics and mechanics of a game that can be played all semester or all year long.
